Leather Journal

So lately I've become obsessed with journals. Especially leather ones. I can spend practically an hour at Barnes and Noble JUST looking at the journals and deciding which one to buy. It's not that I need another journal...I have tons of cute notebooks, journals, and diaries at home already. But they make me happy and I do seem to use every one of them. :) On my last visit to Hobby Lobby I noticed they had some pieces of leather...and I got to thinking that maybe It would be fun to try and make my own journal. So I bought the supplies (it wasn't that expensive) and I've been working on it off and on for the last several weeks. And miracle of miracles...I finished it today! To be honest, I truly didn't think it would turn out looking decent at all...and that was if I even finished it. So I am proud to display the finished product for you today. Enjoy!

I sewed the two different colored pieces of leather together by hand. I used some kind of wax covered leather as the thread.

I tore some pieces out of a vintage scrapbook I bought at a yardsale and used it for the pages. :)

Good for you Amanda! Hand-sewn leather and vintage paper sound very "Etsy". Have you thought of experimenting with different styles and selling? :)

Yeah, I have considered making and selling some..but I would have to charge a lot to make me feel like I got my time and money's worth. For now I'm just enjoying it for myself. It's not out of the question though...I guess we'll see. :)
